Fashion (mostly) Haul!

Hi everyone!

I absolutely love shopping (who doesn't!?), and I love it even more when there are sales or coupons available to use, so that I can maximize my savings! I thought it would be cool that once in a while I would share a haul. Normally I haul beauty products, but I thought why not the other great items I find like fashion or home decor? I'll give tidbits here and there on how to score major savings at possibly some of your favorite stores! :)

First up! Forever 21! I've been shopping at this store ever since I was in middle school, and I have found that their quality has gotten better over the years. Shop here often? Then I highly suggest that you sign up for their emails because you can get some awesome coupons that they send exclusively to you or email newsletter subscribers. I've gotten a 30% off one regular price item before, 40% off one regular priced item, and so forth! You can sign up on their website HERE. I believe you'll get a free shipping code if you sign up right now.

This is called the Floral Crochet-Paneled Bell Sleeve Dress ($24.90), and it's absolutely cute! It's perfect for spring! I was able to purchase this several weeks ago for $15 since I had a 40% off coupon. I can see myself wearing this with gladiator sandals or boots with a nice pair of shades.

I randomly saw this on a rack while I was shopping at F21, and thought it was cute, so of course I bought it since I had a 40% off coupon (paid $7.74). I've worn this with a pair of capri style jeans and flats. Simplicity!

Wild at Heart Tee ($12.90)

Utility jackets/coats are in for the spring season, and I picked up this grey one for $15 with my coupon. Unfortunately it's not sold online anymore, but this HERE is similar.

Old Navy! Who else used to shop at Old Navy as a kid? I still shop there! My friend gave me a $10 off $25 supercash coupon, so I went in and came out with a few awesome pieces.
I saw this awesome Wanderlust tee in store for $10, and it fits great. It's online  for sale right now for $7.

These Linen-Blend Shorts in khaki are so comfortable. I am in need of a new pair of khaki shorts because my other one has been worn too often that now there are holes! Whoops! I purchased these for $10 in store. Online they are $18.

The last item I purchased from Old Navy is this tank. This would be nice to wear during a casual day out in the sun. I purchased this in store for $5, but online it is $8. I hate how the prices vary from in store and online at Old Navy. -__-

DSW Shoes
I bought myself a pair of Keds from DSW shoes a month or two ago, and I am in love with these! They're grey jersey sneakers that provides real comfort for my feet. I was able to score these for $17 at the time using my coupons. If you shop at DSW, be sure to sign up for their rewards program! Sometimes they randomly send you a $10 off $10 purchase coupon, and you can earn points by purchasing from their store. It's a great program! You can learn more about it HERE.

TJ Maxx

Last but not least I purchased face towels from TJ Maxx. I know it's not exciting, but I got them for a great deal. Most of these are Cynthia Rowley face towels that I scored for $1 each on clearance. They are extremely soft, and are of good quality. Be sure to check out the end caps of the aisles when you're shopping at TJ Maxx, Marshalls or Homegoods. This is where they usually keep the marked down items. Sometimes clearance products are in the regular aisles too. Look out for red clearance stickers. :)

That's it for my haul! :) Happy hump day!

Best of Becca - Ulta Exclusive Set!

I went back to Ulta, and this time it's for a really good reason: Best of Becca set. Yes! I've made calls to FIVE Ulta stores trying to see whether or not this Becca Cosmetics set is in stock, and today I decided to call one store nearby where I was studying, and they had one set left. Oh my goodness, you should have seen my face because I was ecstatic! Thank you Andrea for finding me the last set!

I have the Becca Skin Perfectors in a trio set that my sister got me during the holiday season, and I immediately fell in love with them. I saw this set online a few weeks ago, and thought its value was amazing. Unfortunately it's sold out online, but if you find it in stores, I highly recommend buying it because it is limited edition. For only $34.50 you get a full size Beach Tint Shimmer Soufflé in Watermelon/Moonstone (regularly $27), a full size Beach Tint in Guava, a deluxe size Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed in Rose Gold, and a deluxe size Shimmering Skin Perfector Spotlight in Opal. It's a great value set where you're able to try out several best selling products of Becca Cosmetics!

Here's the back of the box if you want more details.

Swatches of all four products (L to R): Beach Tint in Guava, Shimmering Skin Perfector in Opal, Beach Tint Shimmer Soufflé in Watermelon/Moonstone, and Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed in Rose Gold.

My first impressions of these products:
  • Beach Tint in Guava - fruity smell, creamy. You can use this on your cheeks or on your lips.
  • Shimmering Skin Perfector in Opal - I have this, and it's absolutely gorgeous. I use this everyday, and I'm glad I now have another Spotlight. This is so easy to blend out, and it doesn't make your face look too shimmery. It gives you a nice sheen that makes you glow like a goddess! This is an amazing highlighter!
  • Beach Tint Shimmer Soufflé in Watermelon/Moonstone - This has a bouncy texture. It's not a cream blush nor is it a powder. Its texture is similar to the Maybelline Dream Bouncy blushes. Love this!
  • Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed in Rose Gold - This screams out bronze goddess to me. This pressed highlighter is so perfect for the summer time. It's a true rose gold.

It's no longer available online, but I wanted to post this up just in case you see it in store, and you're wondering whether or not you should get it. GET IT! I haven't put all the products to the test, but I know this will be worth it! :)

Mini Haul: Marshalls & Ulta

After I got my hair cut a few days ago, I decided to get myself a curling wand and some heat protectant spray, so I went to Marshalls. Usually I would go to Target for beauty related items, but I secretly wanted to go to Marshalls to check out their cute fashion pieces and shoes. You can find so many great designer brands at an affordable price!

I was able to find myself a curling wand for only $14.99. I was a bit hesitant to purchase it though because it was so inexpensive. I was expecting it to suck, but to my surprise it works dandy and fine. It's by the brand Bella Beauty, and it's a 3/4" to 1" wand that also comes with one protective hand glove. I also found two American Eagle headbands for $1.99 each! Score!

Here I am wearing one of them:

I quite like it! I feel so young though wearing this headband!

I was unable to find a heat protectant spray at Marshalls so I headed over to Ulta and I found a NYX blush in "Cinnamon" for $2.99 and a Toni & Guy Heat Protectant Hair Mist for $4.49! Great finds!

See! It's a tiny haul! ;) Have a great rest of the week!

Hair, hair!

Happy hump day everyone! We are so close to the weekend already, and I am excited because I will be able to catch up on some work and rest!

I decided to chop off my hair yesterday, and it's a huge change for me because this is the shortest length I've ever had. Childhood Asian bowl-cuts hair do not count!  The last time I had my hair short was during my senior year in college, and ever since then I've kept my hair at a medium to long length.

I just wanted something different: a change. Summer is just a few months away, and although I do prefer longer hair during the hot season (I like the summer beach breeze blowing my hair into the wind, and having stylish beach hair. LOL), I just needed a change.

I look quite fierce don't I? My hair is pretty short! This is obviously when it's straight.

I also bought myself  a clip-less curling wand yesterday at Marshalls, and tried curling my hair to see what it'll look like and here it is:

Not bad right?

I'll be watching videos on how to style my short hair! :P

TIP: Brush Cleaning!

I am at home for a few more days until I head back to school, and I unfortunately do not have my olive oil and Dawn soap with me to clean my dirty brushes. What did I do? I improvised. As a couponer, I have a lot of personal care items at home, and I found a bar of the Shea Moisture African Black Soap in my bathroom cabinet. I decided to test it out to see if it would do a good job at cleaning my brushes without too much effort, and it worked wonderfully!

You can buy this bar at your local drugstore for approximately $4.99. It's inexpensive and works great for your brushes!

The bar is fairly large, so I took a knife and cut a quarter of it off. You may want to do the same, and save the rest for later.

This is an It Cosmetics brush that I use for blush. You  can see that there's a lot of product I need to get off.

All I do is wet the tips of my brushes with water and swirl it on top of the piece of soap I cut off just enough to get some soap on there. Then I massage my brush with my fingers through water again to get all the gunk out. I dry it on a clean and dry towel, and I'm done!

And... boom! I have myself a clean brush. :) I tried this soap with my Beauty Blender as well, and it worked great!
