December Beauty Favorites!

I am deeply saddened that December is coming to an end! This month has been such a whirlwind. I completed my first semester of grad school, and I am pretty darn proud of myself! It was tough, but I made it! I've been back home for break, but I am so sad that Christmas went by so quickly, and now it's the day before New Years Eve! I've had such a great and blessed year with so many inspirational people indefinitely impacting my life in so many positive ways that I could never expect them to. 2015 is going to be very interesting. I don't know if that's a good thing or bad thing, but I just know that I will be kept busy! :)

And now I give to you my December Beauty Favorites! My last Monthly Favorites for this month! I am planning on filming a lengthy video of the Best in Beauty products of 2014 and posting it really soon! I say that it's lengthy because I already wrote a list of all my favorite beauty products I've used this year that I absolutely love, and it's a long list! HAHA :P

Thanks so much for reading my blog and watching my vlogs! I greatly appreciate it!

Nighttime Skin Care Routine for Dry Skin!

The cold has been making my skin drier than ever, but there are several products that have been helpful at relieving the dryness and itchiness! Here's my current skincare routine for the evenings. If I could recommend three products that I mentioned in the video, it would be the Tarte Maracuja Oil, Aveeno Body Lotion, and Aveeno Moisturizing Bar. All three products are very hydrating for my dry skin. If you have any skincare recommendations for dry/sensitive skin, please let me know! I especially need something for my overly chapped lips! :P Thank you! :)

Holiday Nails!

Red nails are my favorite because they look so classy, yet sexy at the same time. LOL It's the holiday season so I decided to throw some silver and white colors on my nails. It's a very easy approach in achieving holiday nails! :P

What am I wearing?

China Glaze's "Red Satin" is very sheer. You need at least three coats to get it looking opaque. Milani's Holographic nail polish is discontinued, but it's a beautiful holographic silver when you build it up with 4+ coats. It also takes forever and a day to dry! I purchased the Sephora Formula X "Vaporize" polish at Marshalls for $4! It's a sheer white pearl shade - definitely perfect for the holidays!

Happy holidays friends! :)

SWATCHES: Em Cosmetics Lip Gallery Lipsticks!

Yes, I have more lipsticks to swatch and share with you guys! :X These are the Em Cosmetics Michelle Phan Lip Gallery Lipsticks that I purchased during the BOGO Free Black Friday sale. I have seven of them, but two are the same shade. I've heard great things about Michelle Phan's lipsticks, and at $7.50 a piece, why not?!

Watch below or read on!

I am wearing "Pomegranate" by Bite Beauty.

I provided lip swatches with(top)  and without flash (bottom).
  • Nude Lace (creamy) - nude pink
This is my favorite of the bunch. It's such a a beautiful neutral shade. This definitely looks good on warm skin tone complexions!

  • Misty Mauve (creamy) - mauve

  • Uptown (matte) - pink mauve

  • Be Mine (creamy) - red pink

  • Nine to Five (matte) - pink (cool tone)

  • Daredevil (creamy) - berry
I apologize for this ugly swatch. After swatching my lips all night, my lips just felt worn out. Haha!

Here's a better picture of daredevil!

Have a great weekend! :)

Clinique - $30 off $80+ Voucher via Gilt City!

I've noticed that Gilt City has provided a lot of high end beauty vouchers at 30%+  off lately, and I checked their site today and they have a $30 off $80+ voucher that you can redeem on the Clinique website until the 29th of this month. All you have to do is RSVP, checkout (pay nothing), and you will receive a unique coupon code that will be sent to your email.

I'm not sure if I'll be using this promo since I really don't need anymore makeup or skincare products, but $30 off $80 is 37.5% off if you spend exactly $80! That's a great deal. Shipping is also free with any purchase on the Clinique website, plus you get a free gift if you spend $35+.

REVIEW: L.A. Girl Glazed Lip Paint in "Tempt"

Everyone, and I mean, everyone has been talking about the L.A. Girl Glazed Lip Paints and how similar they are to the O.C.C. Lip Tars! I've never tried the O.C.C. Lip Tars before, but I definitely picked up the L.A. Girl Glazed Lip Paint since it was less than $4 (ikatehouse.com). Let me be the first one to say it: I am not impressed.

I picked up "Tempt" which is the most "vampiest" of the 12 shades available. I have to admit that the color is stunning, but what the heck am I wearing on my lips?! I don't know what I was expecting, but I should have known by the product name that it's a "glazed paint." It really does feel like I am wearing thin paint on my lips, which isn't pleasant by the way.

The applicator itself is messy since it's in a squeeze tube, and the applicator or maybe it's the formula of the product or both, I don't know-- is just not good an applying an even application. Expect patchiness and an uneven lip color unless you apply a million layers on top one another. One pro about this though is that you can control the intensity of the color. If you want your lips to be darker, add more product. If you want your lips to be lighter, add less. It is however, really difficult to wear this product sheer because the color looks uneven too! What do I mean by uneven? One part of your lips is darker than the other part of your lips-- the color isn't evenly distributed.

My lips look much better further away. This is not a comfortable lip product to wear.

Do I recommend this? Nope, at least not this color, but even then this type of lip product isn't for me, since I'm more into a creamy lipstick formula.

CONS:
  • Messy, squeeze-tube applicator
  • Thin formula
  • Uneven application and even patchiness
  • Takes forever to dry...

PROS:
  • Inexpensive <$4
  • Ability to control color intensity... somewhat.

Don't get me started on their concealer either!  That's going to be another story/review sometime later. I'm already laughing just thinking about it. LOL

Holiday Home Decor!

I am obviously in the holiday spirit! I shot this video during my Thanksgiving break looking busted and tired, but I love the holiday season so much that I wanted to film and share with you how my moma and I decorated the home for Christmas! All holiday decor items you see are from Target and Michaels from a year or two ago. We like to buy our holiday decor after Christmas when they go on super clearance! It's worth it! :) Enjoy!

P.S. Turn down the volume because "Jingle Bells" WILL play. :P

In Other News...

  • I am turning a quarter of a century tomorrow (December 8). I am not sure I feel about this! :P
  • A review will be up on an LA Girl's Glazed Lip Paint I recently purchased sometime this week.
  • Swatches/video of the Em Cosmetics Michelle Phan Lip Gallery Lipsticks will be posted either this Thursday or Friday!
  • It's finals week...

Have a great week!

Black Friday Haul! :)

I know it's December, but I did film a short Black Friday haul from last week when I went with my sister! I didn't purchase too many things, and I did manage to spend a reasonable amount of money. *Pat on the back.* I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving last week! Expect this blog to get busier once it's December 17 a.k.a. the day after my last final! :P LOL
