Ulta 21 Days Deal - Tarte Maracuja Oil for $25!

Happy Saturday everyone!

Today's Ulta 21 Days deal is my favorite skin product yet, and it's the Tarte Cosmetics Maracuja Oil! Normally it retails for $46, but today only in-store and online, you can get this 50 mL bottle for $25! That is almost half off, and I can guarantee you that you won't see a deal like this for a while.

I've talked about this oil before, and it's amazing! I typically have dry skin, and this oil makes my face feel so hydrated throughout the night and in the morning whenever I wake up. All you need is 2-3 drops, and that should cover your face. I've recommended this product to two of my aunts and my sister, and they love it too! My sister has oily skin, but this product doesn't make her feel gross or extra oily. Don't be afraid of oil! The oil absorbs fairly quickly once you pat it down into your face without making you feel greasy! I highly recommend this product!

REVIEW: Tarte Cosmetics Sweet Dreams Holiday 2014 - Deluxe LipSurgence Duo

The holiday season is my favorite time of the year, and as my best friend says, "It's close to Christmas once you hit the "'-ber" months!" It is SeptemBER, and you can bet that I got super excited when Tarte Cosmetics released their Sweet Dreams Holiday 2014 line just recently! Eeks! I purchased their blush set, lip set, and this really cute $5 deluxe LipSurgence Duo, which this review will be on!

This deluxe size duo set includes one LipSurgence Lip Creme in "Wishful," and one LipSurgence Lip Gloss in "Magic."

The box is deceiving, since it's twice as big as the products.

L: LipSurgence Creme in "Wishful"
R: LipSurgence Lip Gloss in "Magic"
The packaging is so darn cute. I love the purple caps with the shiny gold details! These deluxe mini are great to travel with this holiday season!

The amount of product you get! Not much, but you get for what you pay for.

LipSurgence Creme in "Wishful" - No flash (top); flash (bottom)
Pinky nude color; retractable

LipSurgence Lip Gloss in "Magic" - No flash (top); flash (bottom)
A coral pink gloss with gold flecks of glitter; doe foot applicator
You can see that this lip gloss is milky looking. It's not sticky like most lip glosses.

LipSurgence Lip Gloss in "Magic" and
LipSurgence Creme in "Wishful"

I love these two together! It makes my lips look lush and full!

Note: The lip creme smells minty and the lip gloss smells like vanilla.

PROS:
  • $5 for two deluxe size samples! I say that's a steal. Unfortunately I don't see it on the website right now?! I'm not sure if they ran out, but I hope it'll be back in stock because it's such a good deal, and it's a great way to try out Tarte's lip products!
  • The colors are pretty!
  • Decent wear time. Approximately 3 hours without eating or drinking. CON: Gloss does wear off though!
CONS:
  • It makes my lips taste weird. I'm not sure if it's me, but when I wiped off the lip products at the end of the day with a tissue, my lips tasted so nasty. I don't even know how to describe it!
  • The gloss is lovely, but it doesn't have long staying power, most likely due to the fact that it isn't as sticky, so it doesn't adhere to the lips.
  • Not moisturizing.
Overall I like this duo set, especially when worn together.  :)

Products I'm Wearing on a Hot Day A.K.A. TODAY! :(

Hi everyone!
It is so stinkin' hot today (97 degrees the last time I checked), that I can't stand to put any makeup on! Typically when it's hot I get really lazy, so it's a no makeup day. I was productive in that I was able to do some reading for class, but other than that, you can bet that I'll be sitting right in front of the fan and that I'll be drinking gallons of water before I have to run to class!

I am wearing some beauty/personal care products though so help protect myself from the sun!

As listed:
  1. Up&Up Sport Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 15 Spray - Personally, I find this sunscreen spray to be much better than Coppertone's. It's not as difficult to press down on the button to get product out in contrast to Coppertone's, and the texture of the sunscreen itself isn't as sticky either. Sunscreen is a must for me everyday that I am outside!
  2. EOS Lip Balm in "Lemon Drop" SPF 15 ($2.99)- SPF is needed on the lips too! We tend to neglect our lips when we apply sunscreen on our bodies and faces, but this EOS Lip Balm has SPF 15. I enjoy using this one because it smells like lemons, it moisturizes my lips, and it also protects them too!
  3. Origins A Perfect World SPF 25 ($41) - Facial moisturizer is a must as well! This origins moisturizer smells so good! It's made out of white tea, and it is also oil free. It is pricey, but it's a great moisturizer!
  4. Dove Go Sleeveless Deodorant - Because no one wants to see your armpit sweat stains on your shirt. Don't stink, stay fresh!

All I have to say now is, can it be cold already!?

Stay cool!

REVIEW: Milani Bella Eyes Gel Powder Eye Shadows!

Hi everyone! Finally I am back, and I have gotten my hands on the new Milani Cosmetics Bella Eyes Gel Powder Eye Shadows! I can gladly say that these shadows are superb! They have great pigmentation, are easy to blend, and they are long-lasting with a primer underneath!

Each shadow name starts with "Bella" with the color of the shadow color named afterwards. Milani states on their website that these shadows starts off as a gel, and then apply as a powder. There is no indication to me that these shadows have a gel-like texture at all. In my opinion they are powder eyeshadows that stay as powder eyeshadows. Nevertheless, they are great shadows, and Milani offers a large range of them in 30 colors with different finishes from satin matte, shimmer and metallic.

I managed to pick up Bella Mandarin, Bella Bronze, Bella Bronze, and Bella Taupe.

Bella Mandarin - Cool tone peachy orange (satin matte)

Bella Bronze - bronze (metallic)

Bella Copper - Copper (metallic)

Bella Taupe - Taupe (satin matte)

Swatches from left to right:
Bella Mandarin, Bella Taupe, Bella Copper, Bella Bronze

PROS/CONS:
  • Pigmented
    • Matte shade or not, these shadows are rich in color. The swatches above were applied straight out of the packaging, so no primer or wet application was used. I always wear eye shadow primer underneath my eye look to achieve more vibrancy.
    • Bella Mandarin is a little chalky, but is still a great quality shadow.
  • Affordable
    • Each shadow varies from $3.99 to $4.79. Unfortunately for me, one Milani shadow at my local CVS retails for $4.79, which I personally think is pricey. However, I did buy these on sale, use a CVS store coupon and previous rewards to get them for a cheaper price.
    • HOWEVER, I do prefer an eye shadow palette like my LORAC Pro Palette instead of buying single eye shadows since I believe it is a better investment and is easier to work with, but if you are on a budget and you only need one color or so, then I recommend trying the Milani Bella Eyes out.
  • Easy to blend
    • CON: If you are applying it WET, then forget about blending your eye shadows because this formula barely budges when wet!
    • These shadows blend very beautifully with and without a primer underneath. Wear a primer if you want it to last longer!

I give Milani two thumbs up!

LIFE UPDATE: Moved & School

Where the heck have I been for almost a month? I moved away from home for school, and guess what? I've been in school for three weeks already! I know!

It's been a long and stressful journey so far. I became homesick right when I moved, and I just felt so lonely. Everything was different to me: the streets, the people, the scenery, everything. It didn't feel like home to me, and it made me sad even though I knew my feelings were normal for many young adults who move away from home for the first time.  When you're not in the mood, you're not in the mood, so I didn't touch this blog.

I've also been out of school for two years, so coming back to school as a full time graduate student made me feel very stressed out. I had to learn how to make friends again, and when you're in a brand new semi-permanent place all by yourself, you may just know how that feels! School itself is still stressful now, but I feel rejuvenated and a little more confident now. Sometimes you just have to go with the groove, suck it up, and put your energy and effort into something to get the results that you want back. I know graduate school is going to be even tougher than the previous weeks, but I am feeling excited and prepared. Tis better now.

I won't have as much time as I used to in the past to post frequently on this blog, but I will try my best to post here and there! Unfortunately my new computer isn't recognizing my video editor, so I can't post videos up on YouTube either.

On a lighter note, I was playing with makeup with my cousin last night, and it was so fun, and can I just say that it was stress-relieving? LOL :P Playing with makeup can be so therapeutic, and it was exciting to watch my cousin apply makeup on herself for the first time. There's always a first for everything!

Anyway, I am back, and I am happy to be back! :)

P.S. If anyone needs a good read, I recommend Don't Sweat the Small Stuff...and It's All Small Stuff by Richard Carlson. ;)
