Sephora Deals: Stila In The Moment/Garden Palettes $20!

Happy Black Friday everyone! I hope you all had a well rested Thanksgiving with your friends and family! I had a big luncheon party with my family, and had way too much to eat. We've had turkey every year, but this year was an exception! Instead of going the traditional Thanksgiving route we ended up having a BBQ style Thanksgiving. :P It was super beautiful in San Diego yesterday, and today we get full on rain!

I did make my way out to do Black Friday shopping, or Thanksgiving Day shopping I should say, yesterday and today with a few of my friends and got some good deals on gifts and goods for the people in my life and for myself! I did have a chance to stop by the Sephora shop at JC Penney and picked up several items, and as of now Sephora still has some of their $10 deals still available in store and online. Plus, I also saw that they have two Stila In The ... palettes on sale for $20! What!? The Smashbox Soft Box LE is also on sale! Check it out below!

Pretty awesome right? These may go quick, so buy them when you can if you want it!

Target Cartwheel - Lots of great savings!

I'm a little late on this, but you may have already seen that Target Cartwheel has amazing offers on many items today only! Go and sign in online or use your app to see what deals were posted earlier this morning. There is still time for many items. If you are unsure of a particular item, I recommend adding it to your cartwheel anyway since there is a limit on how many offers can be used for the item.

Unfamiliar with Cartwheel? It's an easy way to maximize your savings while shopping at Target. You simply add coupons that apply to your purchases in your cartwheel and have the cashier scan your bar code as you check out. Discounts will be applied to items. Start using the Target Cartwheel program HERE. It's free! You can also download the app which I prefer using if you have a smart phone since you can add items while browsing the store. For Target Mobile offers, text "Coupons" to 827438 to sign up for mobile coupons.

Manicure Monday: Holiday Picks!

Thanksgiving is this Thursday and that means winter and Christmas is coming too! One way I get festive for the holidays is doing my nails whether it's adding a pinch of glitter or painting on a design! I went through my nail polish collection and picked out 5 polishes that I am most likely going to wear this holiday season. Take a look!

From left to right: Essie - Velvet Voyeur; Nicole by OPI - Iceberg Lotus; Rimmel London - Metal Rush in "Gold Save the Queen"; NYC - Broadway Burgandy Frost; OPI - Excuse Moi.

No flash.

With flash.

Essie's Velvet Voyeur: a beautiful dark, dark creme purple. It looks black, but a close look at it you'll see the purple. During the fall I love to wear neutrals and dark creme polishes, but I think that they can work for the winter as well especially with the scarves, boots, gloves and winter clothing!
Nicole by OPI's Iceberg Lotus: I love this turquoise, green, blue, purple chrome. It reminds me of Christmas, and I wear this every single holiday season.
Rimmel London's Metal Rush in Gold Save the Queen: I've talked about this several times in the past, and I love this so much. It's a duo chrome of gold, purple, and grey which works so beautifully for the holidays.
NYC's Broadway Burgandy Frost: Red is such a classic color for nails. You can never go wrong with red any time during the year, and that means it is no exception for the holiday season! This NYC polish is only $0.99 at the drugstore and has fine red glitters. It applies nicely, and appears pink with one coat, but once you add another coat or two it'll look more red.
OPI's Excuse Moi: I love glitter but it is a pain in the butt to take off, so I try my best not to wear it as often. I know, I know, shame on me!. I try not to wear glitter whenever I can, but I always make an exception for glitter polishes during the holidays. The sparkle and shine is just what everyone needs this holiday season!

What are your favorites for the holidays?

REVIEW: Topstyler by Instyler

After trying this product out for a little more than two weeks, I can say that the Topstyler by Instyler is an "eh" and a "oooh!" product. I purchased my Topstyler at Bed Bath and Beyond for $31.99, after using a 20% off coupon on it. It retails for $39.99, but I recently went to Marshalls and found it for only $29.99.

What is the Topstyler? It's a hair tool that is supposed to be a new and innovative way of curling your hair. Instead of using a traditional curling wand you use either the end of the comb that it comes with or your fingers by wrapping strands of hair around it, pinning it down, and clipping it with "heated ceramic styling shell" clips. After the clips are cooled, you unclip the clips and your hair should fall down naturally in it's curled or wavy form that you chose to do.

You can watch my brief review below and/or continue reading. *Apparently I still haven't figured out my camera settings yet.*

Pros
  • You can multi-task. With no wires attached, you can easily move around with clips on your head like eating breakfast and putting on make-up.
  • Unlike some curling wands, you can choose how big or small you want your curls or waves by using different numbers of fingers to wrap strands of hair around them. One finger = really cury vs. three fingers = more wavy.
  • The hair system comes with extra clips. In this set you'll get 5 small clips and 10 large ones. Only ten will fit on the heating system.
Cons:
  • Hard to use. This hair tool will require practice. You can watch the instructional video or read the manual, but achieving the curls will take practice and patience. I do not recommend it if you are a busy girl always rushing on the way out. If you have some time, sit and practice with this hair tool. Practice makes better!
  • Results are not consistent. This is probably one of my biggest problems with the Topstyler. One day your hair is beautiful and the next day your hair has weird crimps in it. It's so difficult to get consistency if you do not follow a way you wrap your hair around the comb or fingers. I do believe though as you practice results can become consistent.
  • Curl wait time is long. Instyler recommends waiting between 15 to 30 minutes before releasing the clips. I find that 20-30 minutes of wait time gives me nice curls.
  • Not long-lasting. You will need to use hairspray! Curls or waves do not last long. I will also recommend using a hair styling spray like a heat protectant prior to using these curls even though it states on the box that it should not damage your hair. I noticed that with heat protectant my curls and waves hold better, or maybe because I got used to using the Topstyler.
  • The box is too bulky. This is NOT travel-size friendly. I would stick with a curling wand.
Here are several pictures of my hair using this tool:

And another time:

It's up to you to decide whether or not you want this hair tool for yourself or as a gift for someone for the holiday. Will you be purchasing this?

In Other News...

  • I'll be posting my five favorite winter nail polishes on Monday!
  • Hives breakout #289890435 -__- I'm so sleepy due to my meds, but it's only 6:32 PM!
  • I just purchased the Em Cosmetics' The Life Palette Moment, Winter Life: Ice Bunny Edition for $22 with tax + free shipping. Use promo code: IPSY30 I am super stoked to finally try out her line!
  • I was browsing through my lip collection and counted over 30 lip products I've purchased this year alone. UGH. End of the year clean out in late December?!

Sephora Black Friday 2013 Deals are OUT! + Hint. ;)

Sephora's Black Friday have been released today on Pinterest, HERE. Take a look at their Pinterest page because they have some great deals like a Tarte set, Stila travel palettes, Lorac Fan Favorite Duos and more! Deals are available online and in store on Black Friday.

UPDATE: Looks like they're either all sold out or Sephora took it down. I'm assuming this was a mistake to begin with.
But here's a hint, three of the four listed Stila products are actually online priced at $10. :)

Target - Glade Air Freshener (Fall) Clearance @ 50% Off

Glade is one of my favorite air freshener brands because it works well and is inexpensive. Right now my Target has the fall line for Glade at 50% off.  Glade Plugins Scented Oil twin refills are on clearance for $2.48, and I used a $1.00 off Glade Plugins twin refill set and pay $1.48 instead. This scent is amazing. I have started using winter scents from Bath and Body Works already, but this I can use in my bathroom or save for next season.

Select O.P.I. Nail Polishes for $3.20 at Target!

Have any of you come across the O.P.I. nail polishes found in The One Spot (dollar spot) at Target yet? Several limited edition shades are being sold at Target for only $4.00 when they normally cost $9! What makes this an even sweeter deal is by using the Cartwheel deal, 20% off The One Spot item to pay only $3.20 for a bottle!

  • Buy 1 O.P.I. Nail Lacquer (only a selected variety) from The One Spot @ $4.00 (regular price)
  • Use 20% off The One Spot on assorted items (-$0.80, Target Cartwheel, exp 11/23)
  • Pay $3.20!
*Remember that Cartwheel (usually) allows you to use an offer up to four times until expiration date*
They should all be in The One Spot, but I've found some of them in the nail aisle too.

How do you know if it's $4 and not the normal $9? At the bottom of the nail polish it should tell you like in the photo below.

It's difficult to tell what color is what since the barcode blocks the polish name. I wanted an off white color, so I picked this one up.

When I got home I peeled off the barcode and found out that this polish is from the Spiderman Collection called "My Boyfriend Scales Walls," which is a dusty white creme polish.

I've seen Katy Perry's O.P.I. polishes along with a few from the Pirates of the Carribean line, so keep your eyes out!

Not familiar with Target Cartwheel? Start using the Target Cartwheel program HERE. It's a free coupons/offers program that saves you money! Add offers to your list, print it out, and give it to the cashier to scan when you check out in store. You can also download the app on your smartphone, which I prefer using, since you can add items while browsing the store, and then have the cashier scan the barcode on your smartphone when you check out. Combine Cartwheel offers with either or both manufacturer coupons and Target Web/Mobile coupons to maximize savings. For Target Mobile offers, text "Coupons" to 827438 to sign up for mobile coupons.

NARS Cream Blush in "Enchanted" @ Sephora - $10!

UPDATE: ALL SOLD OUT

This is quite a surprise to me, but Sephora has the NARS Cream Blush in "Enchanted" (from summer 2010) on sale for $10. That's a great price knowing that it is sold elsewhere for $29. I've read reviews that the pigmentation is lacking on medium and darker tone skins, but you can read Temptalia's review and see how it looks on her skin.

What do you think? For $10? I have a feeling that this will be sold out soon though!

JCP Black Friday-- 50% off Hair Products, BOGO $1 O.P.I. Polishes!

I'm planning on doing most of my shopping at home online when Black Friday hits, since I don't want to get run over, but I just wanted to let you know that there are some great sales going on in the beauty department at JC Penney! Look below! BOGO $1 O.P.I. nail polishes, $11.99 for holiday boxed sets for hair, 50% off shampoo, conditioners, styling and hairspray products! That's insane.

Unfortunately you have to type in the search bar "hair" or whatever you're looking for when it comes to beauty products since there's no tab you can click on. I don't see any O.P.I. online nor do I see "It's a 10" products. :( Boo. I want to shop online. I love my "It's a 10" leave in conditioner, and it'll be 50% off at JCP! I'm going to try and snag another one next week! :) Lots of Big Sexy Hair products will be 50% off  too! WOW!  You can find the BF ads on slickdeals.net if you're curious to find out more BF deals!

Manicure Monday: NEW Revlon Parfumerie Scented Nail Enamel in "Wintermint"

Happy Monday!

Today I am going to share with you one of the new Revlon Parfumerie Scented Nail Enamels that just recently came out. There are so many scents and colors to choose from! Scent areas are: freshes, sweets & spices, and fruits and florals. The one I own is "Wintermint" which is a fresh scent. People seemed to have mixed the polishes below in the display, but it gives you an idea of what they have.

Can I first say that these bottles are absolutely adorable? They are absolutely different than any other nail varnishes out there, plus they're scented which I think is something new! I picked Wintermint because the color is something I don't already own, plus it looks like a Deborah Lippman dupe for Mermaid's Dream.

These pictures do not give this polish justice. It is so much prettier in person. My nails are actually more of a minty green pearl finish, and it smells like mint! I tried smelling it from the bottom, but it straight up smells like nasty lacquer. Once you apply the polish is when you'll be able to smell it. This has a pearly mint green base with fine silver glitters and larger blue glitters. Texture is rough since there's glitter, but you can always add a top coat to smooth it out. I am itching to try the other polishes in the line, but I have too many polishes so no more!

Right now these are 40% off at Rite Aid this week only! Have any of you tried any polishes from this line yet?
