ONE. I was supposed to upload my unboxing of the FabFitFun summer edition box sometime this week, but I accidentally deleted the footage from my camera. Plus, I ate two of the items, so is there a point to showing what was in the box? Probably not. I find it funny, but rather annoying at the same time that the time I spent recording went to waste. My fault! :(
TWO. Needless to say, I was a babysitter again, and I was pretty excited to see my two little munchkin cousins!
Here's a schedule that they wrote up together. HAHA!
But DANG, I give MAJOR props to teachers, mothers, fathers, and or guardians out there who take care of children, especially the little ones with tantrums. My cousins are required to do homework for the summer from their Kumon extracurricular studies, and one of them refused to do his math homework. The worksheet had unfamiliar math he didn't recognize, but he refused to learn. It was so difficult getting his attention especially when he got up to walk around or when he looked elsewhere instead of at me or at his paper. It was so frustrating, and every response I got out of him when I asked him questions were "I don't know," or "I don't care." I was trying to be so patient with him, but he didn't even bother trying, and I know he's a bright kid. He eventually got so upset about doing homework that he went into tantrum mode. He wept, he screamed, and he ran all over the house. All he wanted to do was "play, and not do any school work." It was frustrating, but eventually after some lengthy talk he calmed down and did part of his homework. He went into tantrum mode again the following day when he had to do his homework, but I figured that I'll just let my uncle deal with him and his homework later when he comes home the following day. Apparently my cousin hates doing homework with his dad since he's strict, but he did have the opportunity to try and learn with me. His older sister told me how she has trouble teaching him too because he never wants to pay attention. *PROPS TO ALL THE TEACHERS, PARENTS AND GUARDIANS OUT THERE!!!*
FOUR. I was driving to my sister's house earlier this week when I was almost hit by a woman who ran a red light. I was making a left turn on a green, and out of nowhere I see this beige car coming my way in my lane from the other side. It was definitely a close call, and I could tell from her face that she knew she made a huge mistake. I'm pretty sure my heart skipped a beat.. or two.
Even though it's been a weird and frustrating week, I am grateful for everything that I have in my life. I always tell myself that there are people who are in worse situations than I am. Every time I look at the news I'm reminded of how lucky I am to be alive and loved. Everyone has their bad days, but we have to move on and remember that our problems are just bumps in the road that we can overcome if we want to. This upcoming weekend is going to be exciting as my friend from college is hosting a girls' night, and one of my best guy friend's is having his engagement party. I can't wait to spend more time with the people I care about! :)
Enjoy your weekend everyone, and try to look on the brighter side!
