REVIEW: Maybelline Master Glaze Blush Stick in "Warm Nude"

Hello everyone!
Happy Friday! Today I'll be reviewing the new Maybelline Master Glaze Blush Stick in "Warm Nude." There are several of these that are in the permanent line that you can find at the drugstore, and I am also aware that there are also a few that are limited edition for the spring season. "Warm Nude" is part of the permanent line and retails for about $7.99 at most Targets. I love the purpose of these blush sticks where you can apply blush similar to a deodorant! The formula is suppose to be creamy enough where you can blend out the blush with just the touch of your fingers! I have to say that I've really been enjoying this!

I picked up "Warm Nude" in particular because I like the idea of having a sun-kissed glow on my face since it's been nice and warm in San Diego. I have too many pink and coral blushes, and hence which is why I wanted to pick this up. You'll notice below that there isn't much product in this stick (0.24 oz) which is a little disappointing since I feel like cream texture blushes would be used up faster than powde ones, but this product works very well nevertheless.

It glides very easily on skin, and I use my fingers to blend out the product. As you can tell, application is very easy!
Unblended
Blended! A nice soft shimmery glow!

Pros:
  • Beautiful color! Nice range in stores also.
  • Application is easy. It glides on with ease!
  • Blendable! No need to use a brush, just use your fingers instead!
  • Long staying power. One thing about some powder blushes is that it doesn't last long throughout the day. The great thing about this Master Glaze is that it's not a powder finish, but it's creamy instead which helps cling onto the cheeks which allows it to sit on the cheeks all day!

Cons:
  • Too little product!

Overall I recommend this product, and I will most likely buy more in the future!

Monthly Favorites: February!

Can this year go by any faster!? For some reason I keep thinking that yesterday was still New Year's! Any way, since the month is ending, it's time to share with you my monthly beauty favorites! I have quite a lot more favorites this month than the past several months, but that's because I've been breaking out some new and a few old products from my makeup collection!

Watch the video in HD below and/or read on!

  1. Tarte Pure Maracuja Oil ($46) - I'm sure this is the billionth time I've mentioned this product, but I absolutely enjoy using this as my night time moisturizer. It's pure oil that is suppose to moisturize your skin, diminish fine lines and correct skin tone. This oil really hydrates my face throughout the night while I am sleeping because the next morning my face isn't dried out like prunes! Haha! My face has been looking healthier ever since I've added this in my night time skincare regimen, and I highly recommend it!
  2. L'Oreal Magic Skin Beautifer BB Cream in "Medium" ($7.99) - This is perhaps my favorite BB cream out of many that I have tried. This is different that most BB creams I own because it leaves a nice semi-matte finish, and coverage for this face product is moderate where small blemishes can be covered. This BB cream appears white, but it has beads that will change the product into a certain skin tone shade once you blend it throughout your face.
  3. Clinique Line Smoothing Concealer in "Medium Beige" ($17.00) - It's pretty pricey for a concealer, but it works well at hiding those imperfections I want to cover. I find it quite similar to the Maybelline FitMe Concealer that I love so much, except that this is just more expensive. It does go into the fine lines a little, but not so much that I would hate it. I love that it's creamy and easy to blend. If you're like me, I like to just wear concealer alone sometimes and this one is great if you want to spend a little extra cash! :) You can read my full review HERE on this product.
  4. Too Faced  Chocolate Soleil Matte Bronzing Powder ($15 Travel Size) - One of my favorite bronzers aside from the NYC Bronzer! This indeed smells like chocolate, and this is great to contour your face with since it is matte! I have nothing else to say about this except it works very well and stays on my face all day on top of my foundation/BB cream.
  5. Yes To Grapefruit Dark Spot Correcting Creme ($9.99) - Finally a body creme that isn't too thick! I own a body butter from The Body Shop that I consider quite heavy, and I personally don't like having thick layers of lotion or creme on my skin. This Yes To body creme is made for me. I love that it hydrates my skin and leaves it nice and smooth! This is also suppose to correct dark spots on the skin, but I've never really looked out for that since  don't notice any dark spot on my body with the exception of some uneven skin tone on my face.
  6. Revlon Lash Potion Mascara ($7.99) - I like semi-dry mascaras because I feel like they do a better job at separating the lashes and thoroughly coating them. The Revlon Lash Potion has a huge standard brush that locks to me lash roots and separates and coats them from top to bottom! It gives lots of volume and sometimes only one coat is needed since it can get clumpy easily (a con).
  7. Wet N Wild Color I-Con in "Comfort Zone" ($4.99) - If you are ever looking for inexpensive eyeshadows with great pigmentation and quality, try Wet N Wild! For only $5 you get such rich pigmentation even without a primer. WNW also carry trios if you can't find an 8-pan palette that works for you. You can read my full review HERE on this product.
  8. Tarte "Be MATTEnificent" Palette ($36) - A completely matte palette with great smooth eye shadows and a blush made out of amazonian clay. This palette will be what I'll be bringing along when I travel. The colors are cool-toned shades that rings out "romance". Pigmentation is there, blendability is there. Two thumbs up. You can read my full review HERE on this product.
  9. Milani Power Lip in "Pink Lemonade" ($6.49) - This is a new product that Milani just released this past month at the drugstores, and I'm loving it. This product is hydrating, long lasting and has so much color that your lips will stand out among everything else that you'll be wearing on your face! There's a little grittiness to the product though that I noticed whenever I wear it, but overall I've been loving this lip product! You can read my full review HERE on this product.
  10. Milani Statement Lipstick in "Nude Creme" ($5.49) - Milani lipsticks look so classy in it's gold packaging! This among all the other Milani Statement Lipsticks I own are very much like "real" lipsticks where it is semi-hydrating, but gives your face a whole new look. The "Nude Creme" is a little too light for my skin, but I've been wearing it all month with #11 to give my lips a beautiful neutral color.
  11. Tarte Maracuja Divine Shine Lip Gloss in "Chic" (No longer sold) - I've been topping this gloss over the "Nude Creme" by Milani this past month. These two together are just amazeballs! This gloss in particular is a little thick, but not too sticky. I purchased it in a set two holiday seasons ago, and it still works wonders for my lips. Unfortunately Tarte no longer sells Maracuja lip glosses anymore.
That's it for my beauty monthly favorites for February. Any recommendations or favorites I should try out? Let me know! :)

P.S. Happy early March!

Manicure Monday: It's My Year!

I've never really admire this color until just last week. I am wearing this color twice in a row now, and that's rare when I paint my nails on a weekly basis! This is O.P.I.'s "It's My Year" from the Miss Universe Collection from several years ago, and I love how it shines!

Look at that shine! This is a shimmery almost metalic pinky, purple, gold polish that dries pretty quickly on the nails. I would say it dries after 45 seconds which is pretty amazing. I find that shimmery nail polishes tend to dry faster than creme polishes, and I assume it must be because of the fine glitter!

I find that this shade is also perfect for the spring! It's not spring yet, but here in sunny San Diego it sure feels like it! :) Have a great Monday everyone!

Bath and Body Works Candles 2/$22 Sale Ends TODAY!

Just a heads up for the folks who love Bath and Body Works 3-wick candles that the 2 for $22 ends today! A couple of weeks ago they were 2 for $25, so this deal is definitely better that before. Regular price per candle is now $22.50 instead of $20 that it used to be last year. It's a little disappointing at how pricey candles can be, and how BBW has raised their prices on almost everything, hence which is why I haven't been shopping there as much as I did before. I did take advantage of the candle deal this weekend and used a $10 off $30 purchase from the survey you can take from a previous BBW purchase that you can find at the bottom of that receipt. You can read this POST on how you can save at Bath and Body Works!

If you follow me on Instagram, you may have seen me posted a picture yesterday of the three candles I purchased: Lemon Mint Leaf, Rio Glow, and Mahalo Maui! They all smell like a fruity spring and summer vacation!

REVIEW: Milani Lip Intense Liquid Color in "Fiery Coral"

I was so excited to find the new Milani Lip Intense Liquid Color lippies at CVS ($6.49) in the permanent display, so I picked up, might I say a "daring" and "bold" color in "Fiery Coral." It's almost spring time, and I live in the beautiful San Diego city where the weather already feels like spring, so I thought to myself that I should wear something bright on my lips to match the happy weather mood. Darn it!

Milani claims that these new lip products are highly pigmented that will give your lips a great shine and great longevity. No doubt it does these things, but I was really expecting for "Fiery Coral" to be a true coral color, but instead I saw Barbie's lips on mine! Since when did one of my favorite spring/summer color turn into a Barbie fuchsia pink!?

Looking at the bottom of the packaging, I thought my lips would look similar in color.

The brush is similar to most lip glosses. Application is fairly easy like a lip gloss except this slides on without any issue since it doesn't have a goopy formula. I would say that the formula of at least this color is like putting acrylic paint on your skin. That may sound horrible, but my simile is how I really feel about this product. Expect this to dry out your lips and even accentuate dry and cracked areas already there. Also note above that Milani didn't put anywhere on it's packaging that this is going to hydrate your lips (they have the Lip Power for that), so if you have chapped and dry lips, next!

Let's take a look at a swatch on my hand. Hot pink? Neon pink? Fuchsia pink? Barbie pink?...

But look here when I swatched the Lip Intense Color on a white piece of paper. It now looks more of a coral doesn't it?

On my own lips.

I guess it doesn't look that terrible on me, but it's something that I would never wear. I absolutely enjoy using many products from Milani, but this color at least isn't for me. Barbie pink and coral are two distinct colors, and unfortunately this was not what I was expecting, and I am highly disappointed with the color and color name. I had high hopes for this product, and I won't be repurchasing this product even in another warmer color. If you have light/fair skin, perhaps this may work for you.

Pros:
  • Intense color, exactly like it states on the packaging
  • Easy application
  • Long wearing
Cons:
  • Color is the biggest problem. "Fiery Coral" turns out to be a Barbie pink.
  • Funky smell
  • Drying to the lips
    • Accentuates cracked and dry ares on the lips.

In Other News...
  • I will post the drugstore (CVS, Walgreens, Rite Aid) beauty ad match ups for 2/23-3/01 either tomorrow evening or Sunday morning so that you have time to clip your coupons and head to the store!
  • Candles at Bath and Body Works are on sale this weekend for 2 for $22! A week or so ago they were 2 for $25. Psh! Price inflation! I'm glad that they're back to 2 for $22! I'm headed to the mall tomorrow with my sister to purchase some new spring and summer scents! :)
  • A review of the Maybelline Master Glaze blush stick will be up next week!
  • Expect a Beauty Monthly Favorites video to be up sometime soon.
Have a great weekend!

REVIEW: Milani Cosmetics Power Lip in "04 Pink Lemonade"

I am such a lip addict, and I got too excited when I saw that CVS finally stocked up the Milani Power Lip Lasting & Moisturizing Gloss Stains! These bad boys only retail for $6.49, and they are supposed to give you a beautiful shine to the lips while lasting all day and moisturizing your lips at the same time. They are called "Power Lip" because the colors are supposed to give you a bold lip.

I only picked up one Power Lip to try first, and I got the "Pink Lemonade." My goal is to go for bolder lips, so I thought that this color was appropriate! "Pink Lemonade" is a pink red cream color. There's no shimmer or glitter in it so it appears simply as pinky red.

The product seems really tiny, but cute. It comes in 0.09 oz., and you have to twist the bottom part of the gloss stain in order to get product up the felt tip bristles.

It takes forever at first to get product flowing out onto the bristle brush tip, but afterwards everything works fine where every click will release some product out. I actually like the bristle brush since I feel like I can get precision at filling in my lips.

Here's a swatch on my hand. It looks more of a red orange on my hand, but on my lips it is definitely a pinky red.

Natural lighting. It's gorgeous isn't it?

Pros:
  • This is definitely long lasting. I get up to 6-8 hours of wear with this gloss stain.
    • And the reason why I think it's so long lasting is because it's also a stain! I love this color!
  • Semi-moisturizing. It gives some moisture, but don't expect it to be a lip balm.
  • It gives a nice shine. Control how much you want your lips to shine by adding more or less product!
  • No feathering. You can decide for yourself how much product you want to use, but you really do not need much to achieve a beautiful bold lip with the Power Lip. This product stays on the lips all day!
  • Travel friendly. The size of this lip product is too cute to ignore. It's small enough to travel with!
Cons:
  • There is a slight smell to the Power Lip. I don't know how to describe it, but it's not minty or floral. It just smells different, and I personally do not enjoy scented lip products with the exception of mint.
  • There's a little gritty texture (like micro beads) to this lip product. It's not so definite, but you can feel it as you rub your lips together.
With that said, I really do like this product a lot, and would definitely consider buying more! Great work, Milani!

REVIEW: Make Up For Ever Professional Aqua Shadow

Hi everyone,
I am reviewing the Make Up For Ever Professional Aqua Shadows that I purchased from Sephora on Black Friday. Unfortunately they do not sell the duo that I got anymore, so each Aqua Shadow retails for $20. An Aqua Shadow is basically an eye shadow on a stick that is waterproof.

I got two Aqua Shadows: 20E (Pearly Taupe) and 28E (Pearly Beige).

Swatches:
28E Pearly Beige: satin champagne finish
20E Pearly Taupe - satin taupe finish

These Aqua Shadows apply very similarly to the Maybelline Color Tattoos with the exception that these are on a stick and the Color Tattoos are in a pot. The texture of the Aqua Shadows are semi-creamy which allows for easy blending and easy building. A good thing I noticed  is that there is no creasing whenever I use this. Like the Color Tattoos, once they are applied to the lids, they settle/dry into your skin quickly, so you have to work fast. These are indeed waterproof even if you use your fingers to rub it it won't budge underwater. I personally prefer it if these were in pots since the warmth of my fingers will melt the shadow and allow for easier and longer application. These are pretty pricey coming up at $20 a piece whereas a Maybelline Color Tattoo (also waterproof) is approximately $6 or $7. Overall I like these Make Up For Ever Aqua Shadows, and I can't wait to rock these two colors during the summer, but I will most likely not buy them again since they are pricey. If you are unsure whether or not you want to invest in these, try going to a Sephora store to test them out and see for yourself.

REVIEW: Clinique Line Smoothing Concealer!

Hi everyone! The week is almost over, and I have another review for you! I am a concealer junkie, so this review is going to be on a concealer that I picked up for myself from Sephora during the holidays called the Clinique Line Smoothing Concealer ($17).

This is a liquid concealer that will help smooth out your skin and "minimize the look of fine lines and wrinkles" according it its page on Sephora. It's also suppose to provide moisture, reduce redness, even out your skin tone, and provide long lasting coverage. Why did I get drawn into this? I love concealers, since I am a criminal in having eye bags and dark circles. But mainly I made this purchase because the texture felt very similar to the Maybelline Fit Me Concealer which I always rave about on this blog. I tested it out at Sephora, and I loved how blendable and smooth the formula was.

I have to say that I really enjoy using this concealer. The color that I purchased is in "medium beige" which has yellow undertones.

The wand is similar to the Maybelline Fit Me concealer where it's similar to a lip gloss wand.

Here's a look at my bare face. You can see I have some freckles on my cheeks and I have huge eye bags! I have a few pimple scares near my brows and on my chin. Yes, this is how I look when I wake up! Sorry!

I like to apply this concealer in dot form all over the "problem" areas including around my nose since I have some redness there.

Using my fingers I blend out the concealer and wallah! My skin looks much better than it did before! My skin tone appears even, and my bags appear a little smaller.  I tend to wear concealer whenever I don't wear foundation. If you're like me, then this concealer will provide you great coverage!

PROS:
  • Creamy. Again, this concealer reminds me of my favorite drugstore Maybelline Fit Me concealer. The creaminess allows for easy blendability and makes the concealer buildable. It's not extremely creamy to the point where it goes into your fine lines. This Clinique Line Smoothing Concealer does dry at a good rate.
  • Great coverage. It can cover probably anything you want! If one layer doesn't work, add another layer, and so forth!
  • It doesn't go into fine lines!
  • The texture of the concealer feels so nice and smooth after it has settled onto the skin.
  • It feels hydrating. This is a pro about using cream/liquid concealer. which is why I recommend using a cream/liquid concealer. I notice a lot of stick concealers or concealers that are found in pots tend to dry out my skin.

CONS:
  • If you have a lot of dry patches on your skin, avoid this product! I currently have dry skin on my top lids and near my waterline, and this concealer will accentuate those dry patches! In fact, they will make it appear brighter and make it more noticeable.
  • It's on the pricey end. $17 for a concealer is a lot, but then again I know that Physicians Formula has a few new concealers that are $13. If that's the case I would go ahead and pay a little more for possibly something better, but at the same time, there are a few great concealers out there for a very affordable price like the Maybelline Fit Me concealer ($5.49 at most Targets!).

Do I recommend this product? Yes, it's a great concealer! Will I buy it again? Not sure, since the Maybelline Fit Me is way cheaper! Probably not then, huh?

In Other News...
  • I will have a review on the new Maybelline Master Glaze Blush Stick (in "Warm Nude") posted sometime next week.
  • I'm currently testing out the new Maybelline Wonder Powder. A lot of Maybelline stuff! I'll be soon testing out new concealers from Physicians Formula as well.
  • Demi Lovato's concert is tomorrow in Anaheim! I'm sooooOOoo excited! I regret not buying glow in the dark makeup for the concert.
  • I'm going to my first ever yoga class tonight! :) Wish me luck!
