My Cousin's Wedding!

My cousin got married last week, and it was an eventful day filled with three ceremonies and lots of love! It is a Vietnamese tradition to do a tea ceremony (ceremony 1) where the groom and his family arrive at the wife's parents' home to offer goods (dowry). The second ceremony, because my cousin is Catholic, consisted of a wedding mass held at the church most of us grew up in. Lastly, the ceremony in the afternoon was held at the beautiful Balboa Park where all their friends and families were invited. This was where the reception was held as well. It was a beautiful ceremony with a guitarist singing Bruno Mars' "Marry You" and Jason Mraz' "I'm Yours" as my cousin's bride walked down the aisle. The vows were so sweet and special, and I shed some tears as my cousin said his vows crying in joy and happiness. It was a lovely day and evening!

Here are a few photos from the wedding:

This is the patio outside of the San Diego Museum of Art. Gorgeous!

Manicure Monday! - Butter London

Happy Manicure Monday!

I get bored easily with my nails, so I recently changed them into a beautiful burnt brown/burnt orange nail polish color by Butter London called "Old Blighty" which I purchased at Ulta (HERE) during their 21 Days sale for $10. This is one of two of my first and only Butter London polishes that I own. I selected this color because it's perfect for fall. I wore three layers because two layers seemed a little sheer, but overall I had no trouble applying the polish. I wore a top coat, and that's what prevents it from chipping. I feel like Butter London is like any other O.P.I. or Essie polish I have, except it's more expensive? But maybe I haven't tried it out enough. Next time I'll wear it without the top coat and see how long the polish will last. What do you think?

Natural Lighting - No Flash

With Camera Flash -You definitely see the orangeness in the color.

Butter London Holiday 2013 Collection!

I was browsing the Ulta website as usual and found that they now have the Butter London Holiday Collection up online!

  • Butter London 12 Piece Fashion Size ($65) - This set comes with 12 different nail polishes each 6 mL per bottle. These colors don't really scream out holiday to me except for a few, but it is a nice collection.

  • Butter London Double Take in "Ice" or "Fire" Set ($24/set) - Fire or Ice? Or both perhaps? These duo sets are only $24 each and each bottle is full size at 11 mL per bottle. I actually like these sets, and they would make great gifts! The polish on the right is called "Lecchy Top Coat."

Too Faced "Be Merry & Bright" Set - Holiday 2013 Collection

Holy mackerels! This Too Faced "Be Merry & Bright" set is so stunning! This set contains two separate palettes, a "Be Merry" and a "Be Bright" one with each palette having 6 beautiful eye shadows, 1 bronzer, and 1 blush. REVIEW: Rimmel ScandalEyes Waterproof Eye Kohls

Rimmel Scandaleyes have been talked about for a while, and I finally got my hands on three of them. I purchased Brown, Nude, and Black.

All three liners are creamy and smooth. The liners are stated as waterproof, and they indeed are, but they do smudge a little after wearing them for several hours.

I like using the brown and black one as my top and bottom liner. It's always hard to find a good liner, but these are better than other ones I've used in the past. I also like using the nude one on my waterline because it brings out my eyes more. I've been using it mostly to highlight my browbone. I put a little right underneath my eyebrows where the browbone is and blend it in.

Although they are creamy, they do dry semi-matte which is good since it has some resistance to slipping off your face. If enough pressure is applied, if you have oily/combo skin, or if you are in warm temperatures, smudging may occur. These usually stay on for a good 6 to 8 hours with minimal smudging. I've worn them at the hospital where I'm running around half the time, and they did a good job. The smudging here and there is easy to wipe off and fix, and I do like these quite a lot. Fortunately they are inexpensive at only $3.99 at Target. I have seen that Jordana released new liners that I want to try out. Apparently they are really good and cost only $2.49. Hopefully I can get my hands on them soon!

Here's a video where I show you the swatches, and test out the smudging (with pressure added), and waterproof claim.

This week is full of holiday collection releases from multiple brands. I saw the Too Faced Holiday 2013 Collection online yesterday, and fell in love! First up is "Joy to the Girls" which includes 15 shadows mixed with mattes and shimmers, and a full size mascara, LashGASM. This is currently sold out...well, that was fast, but I'm sure they're going to restock, so put your email down if you want this set. - $46

HUGE Milani From Dollar Tree Haul + Swatches!

Happy Wednesday everyone!

This is going to be one photo-filled post! I'm so excited to share with you all the Milani products I've purchased from the Dollar Tree! Yes, Milani at the Dollar Tree for only a dollar per item? YES! :) If you're not familiar with the Dollar Tree, it's a dollar store where every item is priced at $1.00, and nothing higher.

I've seen Milani products at the Dollar Tree in the past, but it's definitely been popping up more frequently in the stores, so I thought I'd share with you a haul of the items I've purchased at several of the stores. Unfortunately you won't be able to find all items at one location. From my experience certain items may vary between store and region, so that is why I ended up going to several different Dollar Trees to hunt down Milani products. Most products that Dollar Tree carry by Milani are no longer sold at the drugstore because they were either limited edition and/or discontinued.

I've been looking for these Milani Nail Laquers 3D Holographics for a while, and they were at Dollar Tree! From left to right: 3D, HD, and Hi-Tech

I also found these baked eye shadows. I know Milani still sells baked eye shadows, but these colors are no longer sold at the drugstores. You can wear them either dry or wet. Black color is called, "Melange," and the teal color is called, "Teal the Truth."

These baked shadows are indeed filled with shimmer, and are pigmented. The teal shade has a slight metallic effect when you shine it in and out of the light. The swatches on my wrist are dry.

Next up I have lots of eye liners! This one is the Easyliner Retractable Eye Liner Glitter in Precious Silver. This also comes with a sharpener attached on the other side of the smudger. This glides easily, and exactly like its name, the it is a silver, glittery eyeliner.

This eye liner is the Liquif'eye Liquid Eye Liner Automatic Propel Pencil in "Purple." This is also retractable, and glides on easily as well.

Lastly for the liners, these are the Liquif'eye Metallic Eye Liner Pencil in "Aqua" and "Gold." These are super creamy, pigmented, and glide on easily like the other liners. Although they are so creamy, they dry very well, and barely smudge.

I am wearing "Aqua" on my bottom water line.

Last but not least, I picked up two Milani HD Advanced Lip Colors in "Romantic Rose" and "Ignition."
Packaging is slick and looks expensive, yet it has this old fashion look that I don't like.

"Romantic Rose"
This is a very sheer nude blush color, although I wouldn't even consider this a rose color. This is a buildable color.

No flash

With flash

I prefer this color over Romantic Rose. This one is a buildable coral/bright red color.

Here's a video of my Dollar Tree haul. :)

11 Milani products for only $11! My favorites are the polishes and the baked eye shadows! Have any of you had good finds at the Dollar Tree?
