I am SO excited for June for multiple reasons:
  • Summer!
  • Seeing my friends graduate from college!
  • One of my best friends is visiting from NY!
  • Taking my GRE

Spring has been beautiful here in San Diego, but I sure as heck am ready for summer here in Sunny San Diego! But before we get to June, I want to share with you my May Monthly Favorites!

One of my favorite shampoo and conditioner brands is Organix! I absolutely love the products that they create! I've recently treated my hair last month (attempting to do the ombre effect hair), so I needed a shampoo and conditioner to really clean and condition my hair.  For anyone who has treated their hair chemically before knows that it will dry out your hair, making it course and tough! One thing I love about Organix is that the company creates products for certain types of hair. I picked up the Organix Repairing Awapuhi Ginger Shampoo and Conditioner, and used up the entire bottle within a little over a month! Exactly like the bottle states, it left my hair so soft after I left the shower! I haven't dyed my hair in a while since last month, and usually it is very difficult to get my hair soft, but I found this shampoo and conditioner great at giving my hair a nice texture along with a great smell. I am horrible at describing smells, but it's a little fruity and heavenly, and I love that even hours after showering I can still smell the scent in my hair!

I've always seen people using a round lip balm, and I've always wondered what brand it was, or what was so special about the balm since I saw literally everyone using it! I soon found out it was by the brand, EOS or specifically Evolution of Smooth. I went to Walmart with my sister, and saw a bunch of them on sale for $2.93 (instead of $3.29 on EOS website), so I decided to pick one up, and I selected Tangerine since I am a huge fan of citrus. When I opened the balm, I smelled it, and personally, it did not smell like anything but petroleum jelly. Maybe my nose is bad at picking up scents, but I knew it straight up smelled like regular lip balm. I applied it on my lips, and goodness! This stuff is super dooper moisturizing! NOW I can see why people are in love with this balm, but I still couldn't figure out why EOS named it "Tangerine." Then I decided to lick my lips, and what do you know, it tasted like tangerine! Ohhh! After my first time using, I've been obsessed with it that I picked up another one in "Strawberry Sorbet." I've been a long term user of Burt's Bees lip balm, but I think I've found a replacement! This stuff really does work, and I love it!

I absolutely LOVE Milani's Baked Blushes! I have four of these that I've bought within the past two months, and Corallina was the first one that I tried out. This is a beautiful coral color with pinks, whites, and of course coral! Be warned that this blush has shimmer, but it isn't overpowering when applied to the cheeks. I recommend going light on the brush when you apply this product, because a little goes a long way, and I've definitely learned the hard way! Pat your brush onto the blush a little! This blush is super easy to apply and blend. I do have a little bit of fallout, but it isn't a big deal at least for me. The packaging is a little bulky, and that's because it flips open to a mirror and a space for a blush that is provided. Nonetheless, I love having a healthy coral/pink glow, and this is definitely a blush that gives it to me!

Summer is definitely around the corner, and that means it is bronzer season! I wear bronzer all year round, no matter what season, but summer is when people love to tan, go to the beach, and get that natural glow. This is the NYC Smooth Skin Bronzing Face Powder in "Sunny" or "720A"that can be purchased at Target, CVS or Rite Aid, and it is one of my favorite bronzers because it is MATTE. That's right! No shimmer or glitter! This is great for contouring the face, and giving me that natural glow that I like. I have quite a few bronzers that have shimmer in it, but I can't use those to contour my face, and that's why I like this bronzer by NYC. The compact is very easy to carry around since it is small, and it also has a mirror and a sponge applicator (not pictured) for you to use. The bronzer applies on easily, and I love that this only costs $2.99 regular price! If you go to CVS or Rite Aid, they always have sales on NYC products, so you can probably get even a sweeter deal on this bronzer. I definitely recommend this bronzer if you want a good, inexpensive and matte bronzer!

I am a huge nail addict, and O.P.I. is one of my favorite nail polish brands because they have great polish formulas, a great brush, and a wide variety of colors to select from. I hate nail polishes that leaves small bubbles on my nails after I paint them, and I never that that problem with any O.P.I. polishes! This one I am wearing is called "Red Lights Ahead... Where?" which is a beautiful red-orange cream color. I am only wearing two coats, and I adore this color so much because it's a bright, bold, and summer color. I love all shades and variations of reds, and I love it when there are bright, beautiful, and bold colors to wear for the summer!

Almost everyone has dark circles underneath their eyes, and I use concealer in order to cover up the dark spots! No one wants to look like they just gave birth to a child, and has been up all night! I've been using the Maybeline Fit Me Concealer for months, and you can tell by that based on the faded outside packaging of the concealer in the photos. I've used many concealer sticks before, but I found that they are not blendable and the product would seek in between my lines. It's a big no-no! I discovered this Maybelline concealer at Ulta as I was browsing around to look for something to meet the current deal they were having and I saw this. What drew me to it? The fact that it was NOT a concealer stick! I have yet to find a good concealer stick, but this Maybelline concealer has a great applicator like the ones you find on lip glosses. I really like this concealer because it is creamy, therefore it is blendable. I have no troubles at all blending this product underneath my eyes or my "uh oh" spots. I believer there are 6 different shades, which I believe is a great and wide selection than just light, medium and dark. Definitely try this out if you haven't found a good concealer.

I am typically not a fan of lip gloss because I hate how sticky they are, but I found these two lippies at CVS as part of their clearance sale, and I absolutely love them! These Revlon Super Lustrous lip glosses are not sticky at all! They have a great, smooth, finishing texture that does not shut my lips together like they are glued. You can see that both colors are true to what it is named. "Coral Reef" is a gorgeous coral, peachy color that is perfect for summer with glowing skin, and "Pink Pop" is a beautiful pink color that is perfect for spring and summer as well. I've been alternating my uses between these two colors because I love them so much. I am very glad that I found lip glosses that don't stick! I do have to reapply often especially when I eat or drink, but the formula is great, and I feel like it moisturizes your lips very well too. Most lip glosses you have to reapply anyway! They have a lot of other colors as well, but these two are my favorites for the month and probably for the next few months! :P

That is all for my May Favorites! I hope that my comments are helpful to you if you are planning on trying any of the products! Happy early summer, ya'll! :)

Manicure Monday!

Happy Monday Tuesday!!!

Yes, it is Tuesday! How was your Memorial's Day weekend? I am so grateful and thankful for those who have served and are serving our nation. I am happy that I am a volunteer at the V.A., serving our military men and women!

This is O.P.I.'s "Don't Know... Beets Me!" which is a beautiful cream pink color. I only had to apply two coats, and I also applied Seche Vite top coat. I love pinks, and this is a great color for the spring and summer. I love it because it's not a soft shade of pink. It's a bold and bright pink that can transition easily into the summer! :)

Several items from LORAC is on sale right now on Hautelook for a fraction of the normal price!

I really want this LORAC Eye Candy Full Face palettes that was a holiday limited edition collection in 2012. I've seen it on Instagram that it's been at Nordstrom Rack, but of course it's been sold out at all Nordstrom locations at least here in San Diego. It's on sale on Hautelook for only $28, but it's hold, so most likely no luck!

Manicure Monday!

I am absolutely in LOVE with this color. I received Sation's "Of Corset I'll Call You" in my ipsy bag in April, and it's a beautiful sheer pink color. Two coats will give your nails a sheer look, but three to four coats makes it look as if you just got yourself a gel manicure!

I did add the Seche Vite top coat, but even without it, the shine is absolutely gorg!

I am into all sorts of nail colors, but my absolute favorite are the pinks, nudes and neutrals! This definitely falls under the category. I think this color is great for work if you're allowed to wear nail polish since you can dress your nails with either one, two or three coats, depending on how pigmented you want your nails. I definitely would like to try more Sation lacquer colors. This is probably my favorite polish so far this year!

Target Tuesday!

Happy Tuesday!!! For some reason I tend to like Tuesdays, and I don't know why, but maybe because it's the day after a Monday so the week starts rolling? :P

Anyway, I went to Target on Sunday with my sister and can you say 8 cents shoes?! That's right, one nickel and eight pennies!

The two Merona brand slip-on shoes on the left and middle were on clearance at 70% off for only $5.08 which is a great deal, but Target has a $5 off coupon for any woman Merona shoes. Use that coupon and pay only $0.08 for a pair!

Basically FREE!

For the pair of shoes on my right, I only paid $1.06 with tax! These shoes are much more comfy than the other two because it has a really nice cushion for the sole.

Clearance items at Target is variable between stores and regions. If these Merona shoes aren't on 70% off clearance, they probably will be marked down soon. Availability depends on store and regions as well, so be on the lookout!

Merona Laverne Sandals (in pink and black)were on clearance at my Target for $4.48, so using the same coupon it would have been a $0.52 moneymaker!
You can also use the $2 off sandal coupon Target has and pay $2.28 for the sandals which is also a great deal! Look out for them if you're looking for sandals instead! Although Target does not pay customers for overage, some Targets will take that overage and put it towards other products you've purchased in that same transaction.

I got these Merona Zacari Striped Rain Boots for my mom, but she's going to use them for gardening instead! They were on clearance for $9.98 and with the same coupon I only paid $4.98! Sweet deal!

My cashier was very nice, and my sister and I were able to do one transaction with the same coupon multiple times. Usually you're only allowed one Target coupon of a kind in one transaction, but it all scanned without any problems!

Happy bargain hunting everyone!

Manicure Monday!

Despite it being a Monday (work day), I love Mondays because I get to share with you my nails! I painted my nails a lot this week because I've purchased a lot of nail polishes last month, so I'm going to post two nail colors today!

In this picture I am wearing China Glaze's "Lemon Fizz" and Sinful Colors' "Orange Cream" (You can purchase this at Walgreens or Rite Aid). Both creamy nail polishes with no shimmer. China Glaze is definitely a better brand. The texture is smooth in comparison to Sinful Colors. I found that SC took longer to apply and dry. It felt matte when I first applied "Orange Cream," but after a while it dried out to be a smooth texture. I put two coats of CG and three of SC.

In the pictures below I am wearing Essie's "Under Where?" and O.P.I.'s "Ate Berries in the Canaries."

My nails look messy in these photos, but like I've stated previously, I wanted to test out these colors. Essie's "Under Where?" is a beautiful cream lilac color, and the O.P.I. is a magenta color, but with a stronger purple undertone. Both formulas are great, and I only applied two coats! I believe the O.P.I. is discontinued, but the Essie is part of the 2013 Resort Collection available at Ulta and your local drugstores.

Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day to all the momas out there! Thank you to my moma for bringing me into this world! Have a great day everyone!

I went shopping this morning with my sister, and we got our moma some gardening boots and sandals for the spring/summer along with our Mother's Day card! Yes, we're procrastinators, but at least she loves them! :)

SWATCHES: theBalm "Nude 'Tude Palette"

I purchased from theBalm the Nude 'Tude Palette for 50% off retail price for only $18 when they had their new website promotional deal.

I really wanted a nice neutral and nude color palette similar to Urban Decay's Naked palettes, and I saw that this was on sale, so I thought that it'll be a good purchase.

The palette comes in a box that you just need to slip out.

There are two styles of packaging: "Naughty" or "Nice." You can probably tell that I got the "Naughty" packaging. All the colors on both palettes are the same, but the packaging is different. The "Nice" was out of stock, so "Naughty" it was!

Surprisingly these are very small shadow tins or pots or whatever you want to call them, but I do love the colors!

Swatches with light on: Sassy, Stubborn, Selfish, Sophisticated, Sexy, Serious, Snobby, Stand-offish, Sultry, Seductive Silly, Sleek

Swatches in a darker/white setting
: Sassy, Stubborn, Selfish, Sophisticated, Sexy, Serious, Snobby, Stand-offish, Sultry, Seductive Silly, Sleek

Swatches in a darker/yellow setting: Sassy, Stubborn, Selfish, Sophisticated, Sexy, Serious, Snobby, Stand-offish, Sultry, Seductive Silly, Sleek

Close Ups: Sassy, Stubborn, Selfish, Sophisticated, Sexy, Serious,

Close Ups: Serious, Snobby, Stand-offish, Sultry, Seductive Silly, Sleek

These shadows are very pigmented, and are very pretty. I don't think they're necessarily worth $36 regular price especially with too much packaging and too little product, but the colors are fantastic and of great quality. The palette comes with a brush which I think is cheap, but at least it came with some kind of brush!

If you do decide to purchase this palette, I recommend purchasing it at Nordstrom since they have free shipping and returns, whereas you'll have to pay at least $6 or so for shipping at theBalm.

Beach Days!

I've been running a lot at the beach lately, and I am so thankful it is beach season here in San Diego! I love listening to the waves crashing against the rocks, and looking at mother nature's cliff formation. Nature is amazing, and I am so grateful to have been born and raised in such a gorgeous city.

Yesterday afternoon and evening I spent some time with a few good friends of mine. We all were or are FUSION Coordinators, and it is a tradition to have a FUSION Coordinator dinner! Before dinner I picked two of them up, and we headed to the beach to dip our feet in the sand!

La Jolla Shores

We had dinner at Star Anise in La Jolla, and I got Pad See Ew which was really good!

We went to E&Drink in San Diego and got desserts and drinks afterward. I got myself an acai berry smoothie with boba! :)

This morning I went on a walk/run with my friend, Mouang at Torrey Pines. We completed 8.5 miles, and we reached Glider's Port (La Jolla) from Torrey Pines. Our goal is to go from Torrey Pines all the way down to La Jolla Shores. It is totally possible!

We saw some huge kelp bladders along the coast!

You can see La Jolla from here! We went for miles!

This morning has been eventful, and I usually run by myself Friday mornings, but it's always nice to have a companion to workout with too. I cannot wait until my run next week, and for summer to come along! Happy Friday!
